celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
One of the ways we live this purpose is through associate-led communities. We have seven diversity resource groups (DRGs), including Unidos, which promotes the heritage of our Hispanic and Latinx associates. For Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15–October 15), Unidos has created a full schedule of educational opportunities, cultural events, and social gatherings to celebrate all things Hispanic and Latinx.
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize and celebrate with one another and allies across Banfield the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Hispanic and Latinx community. This year, Unidos, along with the six other Hispanic- and Latinx-focused Mars Associate Resource Groups, is centering on the theme of Power and Progress in our communities.
Part of this progress comes from taking an intersectional approach, which is why we’re excited that our Unidos and #banfieldpride DRGs have collaborated to share experiences across identities and address what’s needed for understanding, well-being, and equitable change via two great events.
The “power” we’re speaking of comes from inclusivity and unity; as a unified force we can harness our power, working to make sure everyone can reach their full potential. In the world we want tomorrow, society is inclusive and diverse, and together we can progress to make this a reality.
