Banfield® donates $1M dollars in vet care through shelter services

Portland, OR July 23, 2019

Press Releases & Announcements

As part of every hospital Banfield opens, we provide three days of free services to show our commitment to the community. During Shelter Services, our new Sellwood hospital which opened in July in Portland, OR, helped nearly 20 shelter pets from Pixie Project and Multnomah County Animal Services to receive important medical care valued at almost $18,000 – and tipped the scales to put us over $1 million dollars’ worth of donated services since the program began.

The efforts by the Sellwood hospital team – and all those who participated in this program before them – have enabled shelter pets across the country to become more adoptable after having dentals, tooth extractions, mass removals, spays/neuters, amputations and pretty much everything in between done. A senior husky named Sonny was helped during these free days of service. Jessica Berg from Pixie Project said after, “This really made a difference – we love being able to rescue senior pets, but the cost of their care really inhibits then number of pets we’re able to reach. We’re so grateful for your support and for your amazing team!”

One million dollars in free services for shelter pets is just one way Banfield is committed to giving back and living our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS. To learn more, visit www.banfield.com/community.
