Anna Noel McKain, DVM
Chief of Staff
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I moved to North Carolina in 2008, to pursue bachelor's degrees in animal science and poultry science at North Carolina State University. I graduated with honors, and as a class valedictorian, in 2012, and then, I immediately continued my education at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2016. Throughout my education, I worked as a veterinary assistant in a small-animal practice outside of Raleigh. I entered the veterinary profession to become an advocate and voice for four-legged family members. My professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, and preventive health. I am equally devoted to teaching, mentoring, training, and developing new veterinary talent. My recent work at Banfield Pet Hospital has likewise given me exposure to and a deep and realistic appreciation of the critical importance of the financial sustainability and potential profitability of a veterinary practice. My professional associations include AVMA and NCVMA, and I am certified in the Human Animal Bond through the NAVC Institute. I am also a Fear Free Certified veterinarian. I share my home with my four fur babies, Aspen (a Border Collie mix), Heart ( a hound mix), and Orla and Persephone (shorthaired cats). In my off time, I enjoy spending time with colleagues and friends, hiking, knitting, and reading. I’m an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoy traveling, both domestically and internationally.
