Alea Harrison, DVM
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Harrison is first and foremost a caregiver at heart - she began her career as a veterinarian at Banfield working in our Willoughby, Ohio and Pineville, North Carolina hospitals in 2006. Now as Chief Medical Officer, she supports our 3,600 veterinarians and invests in the voice of our hospital Associates to shape Banfield’s unique approach to quality preventive veterinary care. Dr. Harrison’s personal experience treating pets and listening to clients helps her identify the best tools and strategies for every one of our Associates to make best-in-practice treatment decisions informed by the latest medical research, Banfield’s own data, and our values of inclusion and wellbeing. In addition, she is committed to fostering diversity within the veterinary profession as the Vice Chair of the Diversify Veterinary Medicine Coalition. She is also the executive sponsor of Banfield’s Associate-led Asian and Pacific Islander Diversity Resource Group, working to enhance the experience of veterinary professionals everywhere.
What is your favorite part about making A Better World for Pets?
Being able to provide access to quality healthcare for our patients and educate and prepare veterinary professional to make it possible to provide this care.
