Gabi Polkes

Gabi grew up in Thousand Oaks, and while she is a bit of a world traveler, Ventura County has continued to be her home. She has always loved animals (growing up with a dog, a rabbit, frogs, and cats) and has wanted to work with them since she was 3. After earning her RVT license in 2017, she completed a bachelor’s degree in zoology with first-class honors at the University of Leeds in England. During her studies, she developed an interest in conservation and wildlife medicine, but has enjoyed working at Banfield since 2014. Small-animal practice allows her to continue helping family pets, forming client relationships, and sharing knowledge with the public. Gabi recently inherited two cats, Maus and Franzl. When she isn’t at the hospital, she enjoys baking, traveling, and being a self-proclaimed “foodie,” with the occasional video game thrown in.
