Jessica Cabrera, DVM

Dr. Jessica Cabrera graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary Concentration in 2004. She then graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. From there, she completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgical internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in NYC and graduated in 2010. She spent the next year working both at a small animal private practice in NYC and in a relief role. She joined Banfield Pet Hospital in June 2011 in NYC. During summer 2013, Dr. Cabrera moved to Northern Virginia with her now husband (Dr. Richard Trisotto) where she started working as an Associate Veterinarian at the Reston Banfield location. In the fall of 2014, Dr. Cabrera was promoted to Chief of Staff of the Reston location. Dr. Cabrera has truly enjoyed working in a leadership capacity with a special focus on student and new doctor development. In January 2021, she was promoted to Area Chief of Staff of Reston, Herndon and Herndon Foxmill. In addition to overseeing the medical quality at these three locations, Dr. Cabrera also oversees the summer veterinary student internship and externship programs, as well as being the Mars Volunteer Program Market Champion, helping to coordinate various volunteer opportunities within the community. Despite having a passion for leadership, Dr. Cabrera still practices veterinary medicine seeing small animal patients at all of her clinics. When she’s not working, she enjoys competing in ballroom dancing with her husband, traveling, and visiting the numerous wineries across Northern Virginia. She also enjoys taking her three dogs hiking and setting up photo shoots for her two chinchillas. A fun fact is that Dr. Cabrera's husband is also a veterinarian and is an Area Chief of Staff in Northern Virginia as well.
