Leslie Abernathy, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Leslie Abernathy is originally from a small rural town in Western Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Findlay and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biology, graduating in 2007. From there she attended The Ohio State University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. "Dr. A" decided to stay in Ohio, and although she initially wanted to be a large animal vet, she fell in love with the small animal side of it, and began her career at Banfield in July 2011. (She still does miss the large animals occasionally.) She has settled down in Kettering with her husband, who is a firefighter/paramedic, their three daughters, and six fur babies: Ada and Rufus (dogs), Charles and Fitz (cats), and Harry and Fiona (guinea pigs). In her free time she enjoys riding/working out with her Peloton, riding horses, hiking with her family, and hopes to travel more once her girls are older. Dr. A loves helping pets and building a bond with her clients.
