Niels van Loo, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Niels van Loo graduated from the esteemed Ontario Veterinary College, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. He first obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology degree from the University of Guelph, and then pursued the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2006. Dr. van Loo credits his years at the OVC for his interest in whole animal treatment approach to veterinary medicine as well as the focus on the human animal bond when treating his patients. Dr. van Loo moved to Columbus in 2007 and started his career at the original Banfield Pet Hospital of SE Columbus, Reynoldsburg. He went on to work at two other practices in Ohio and Kentucky, where he gained a tremendous amount of clinical experience far removed from specialty hospitals before rejoining our hospital team in 2012. His medical interests include preventive care, internal medicine, endocrinology and dermatology. Dr. van Loo also has a great professional interest in soft tissue and oral surgery, making sure his patients get the best surgical care we can offer within the scope of our general practice. In his spare time, he can usually be found spending time at the barn riding his horse, and competing at horse shows. He also enjoys nature, healthy cooking, yoga, reading and traveling.
