Rachel Spah, DVM

Dr. Rachel Spah was born in Oklahoma, but has lived all over the Midwest. She received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from Northwest Missouri State University. She then attended Iowa State University receiving her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Spah has worked in general practice and emergency medicine. For the last 6 years, she has worked as a relief veterinarian in central Iowa. She is delighted to transition from a locum doctor at Banfield in Clive to a permanent position. She looks forward to creating long lasting relationships with clients and their beloved pets. Her interests in veterinary medicine include preventive care, dermatology, feline medicine, and geriatric medicine. Dr. Spah has 3 crazy cats, 2 beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and a lonely gecko named Mrs. Spike. Her husband is a veterinary surgeon in the Des Moines area. Together, they have 3 children that keep life very interesting. When Dr. Spah has spare time, she loves to travel, practice yoga, and she's an avid reader.
