puppy and dog vaccinations

Puppy vaccination and vaccines for dogs can help your pet avoid parvovirus, distemper,  kennel cough, canine hepatitis, Lyme disease, and other infectious diseases.

Help your puppy start life on the right paw and help give your adult dog continued protection with routinely recommended vaccines.

Routinely recommended dog and puppy vaccinations

  • Canine distemper
  • Parvovirus (parvo)
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • Rabies
  • Adenovirus (canine hepatitis)
  • Canine influenza (dog flu)
  • Leptospirosis (“lepto”)
  • Lyme disease
  • Parainfluenza (CPIV)

Vaccinations can help protect your dog against preventable disease

Vaccinations help to prime the immune system so it can launch a defense if your puppy or dog encounters specific or dangerous germs.

Core vaccines are routinely recommended for all dogs

Core vaccines are recommended for most puppies and are vital to ensure the well-being of both you and your BFF. Some of these vaccines are delivered as part of a combination vaccine, like the DAPP, instead of as individual injections.

  • Canine distemper/Parvovirus/Adenovirus (CAV-1) combination vaccine:
Protect your pet against potentially deadly diseases like distemper, parvo, and canine hepatitis, which cause a variety of issues like lethargy, fever, bloody diarrhea, and vomiting.

  • Bordetella vaccine:
The Bordetella vaccine helps protect against a highly contagious upper respiratory infection known as kennel cough.

  • Rabies vaccine:
People are also at risk for rabies infections. Most states require the rabies vaccine to protect pets and the people they contact from contracting or spreading this fatal, incurable viral disease.

Non-core vaccines are recommended based on your dog’s lifestyle

Non-core vaccines are often recommended for puppies and dogs that frequent dog parks or doggie daycare, spend time outdoors, or often visit the groomer.

Have upcoming international travel plans? Some countries require vaccination against these diseases for entry — make sure to check with your vet well ahead of time.

  • Leptospirosis:
Protects against “lepto,” a contagious disease that causes kidney and liver disease in dogs and humans.

  • Lyme disease:
Protects pets from Lyme disease, which is transmitted by tick bites and causes fever, joint inflammation, and long-term medical concerns.

  • Canine influenza:
Helps protect your pet against dog flu, a respiratory disease that can lead to serious pneumonia.
